This mini-website was purposefully developed for Expo 2025 and aims at highlighting recent and on-going research projects focusing on sustainability and inclusion, which were undertaken by teams from Universidade Aberta in collaboration with many other international Higher Education Institutions and companies.
Established in 1988, Universidade Aberta (UAb) is the only public distance education university in Portugal. In its teaching activities, UAb comprehensively uses the most advanced technologies and methods of Distance Learning, without geographical borders or physical barriers, while emphasising the expansion of the Portuguese language and culture within the Lusophone space (migrant communities and Portuguese-speaking countries).

‘E’ stands for EXCELLENCE: pioneering research with sustainability at its core. From AI to clean energy and climate change, we innovate responsibly.
‘N’ stands for NEVER STOP LEARNING: because knowledge has no finish line.
